Life Coast Community Health Center is now open in New Iberia, expanding access to gastroenterology care for patients throughout Iberia Parish and surrounding communities.

The new clinic is located at 516 Jefferson Terrace, Suite C, New Iberia, LA 70560, and features Son V. Nguyen, MD, a board-certified gastroenterologist, and Kristen Lasseigne, NP, a nurse practitioner with experience in gastroenterology, critical care and nephrology.

Gastroenterology Care Close to Home

The New Iberia clinic provides evaluation and treatment for a range of digestive health needs, including gastroenterology consultations and digestive health evaluations; colonoscopy and colorectal cancer screening; upper endoscopy, or EGD; GERD and acid reflux; inflammatory bowel disease, including Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis; and liver disease and hepatitis care.

Procedures are performed at an affiliated facility when appropriate.

Meet Dr. Son Nguyen

Son V. Nguyen, MD, is board certified in gastroenterology and internal medicine and has called New Iberia home since 2013.

Dr. Nguyen earned his medical degree from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans. He completed his internal medicine residency at Tulane University and later served as chief resident before completing his gastroenterology fellowship at Tulane.

His clinical background includes extensive training in hepatology and inflammatory bowel disease. During fellowship, he also led community hepatitis B screening efforts in New Orleans' Vietnamese community.

Meet Kristen Lasseigne, NP

Kristen Lasseigne, NP, is a native of Loreauville and a graduate of Loreauville High School.

She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and began her nursing career in the intensive care unit at Iberia Medical Center.

Lasseigne later earned her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of South Alabama and became certified as an adult-gerontology acute care nurse practitioner. Her professional experience includes critical care, nephrology and gastroenterology.

A sliding fee discount program is also available for qualifying patients based on income and household size.
